Metallic is the finish to choose when the floor is meant to be looked at.
Metallic pigments are moved through a clear coat while it cures, so the color runs and pools rather than sitting flat. The result reads as marble, granite, wood grain, flowing water or natural stone, depending on how it is worked.
Because the movement happens during the cure, no two floors ever come out alike. It customizes to brand colors or to an interior scheme, which is why it turns up in showrooms and display garages more often than in working ones.
Flake is the finish most Avondale garages actually want.
It is a multi layer build: polymer flakes broadcast into the base coat, scraped back, then sealed under two coats of UV stable polyaspartic. That is what protects the slab underneath from staining and wear.
